Mortgage Rates Hold at Record Lows

 Low interest rates are hanging in there again this week.  The 30-year fixed average of 3.66% is almost a full point lower than the 4.51% of one year ago.

15-year rates hit another record low this week at 2.94%.

It is such a great time to be looking for your new Tucson home.

Mortgage Rates Again Back in Record Low Territory

May Monthly Tucson MLS Sales Statistics Show Continued Market Stability and Improvement

The May Tucson homes sales statistics are out and continue to show signs of price stability.  The average sale price was down a slight 1% from April, but the median sales price was up almost 4.5% from April.   And both average and median sale prices for May were up over the same month one year ago.  The number of homes actually sold (1318) was up over 3% from April and just over 5.5% from May of last year.

The number of homes actively listed for sale on the market was down dramatically once again...down almost 6% from April . That is the seventh monthly drop in a row and takes the number of available homes (3544) to the lowest level since April of 2005.  So why the dramatic drop?  Homes are selling at a brisker pace with lots of first time buyers, investors and retirees (and those planning for retirement) coming into the home-buying market.

Summer Solstice at the Santa Cruz Farmers Market

Thursday June 21 is the Summer Solstice, and the Santa Cruz Farmers Market is taking advantage of the long summer day with a Summer Solstice Event.  The Event will include demonstrations of solar cooking with solar ovens that you can either buy or build yourself. 

The Santa Cruz Farmers Market is located at 100 S Avenida del Convento, just west of downtown on Congress Street.  The hours are 4pm to 7pm.

Mortgage Rates End Six-Week Streak of Record Lows

That was an interesting ride...six weeks of downward drops in mortgage rates.  But that doesn't mean they will soar to new heights anytime soon.   So with rates still at or near record lows, it is a great time to buy your first Tucson home, an investment home, or even that Tucson retirement house you will be moving into someday.
